Mothers we love : Emilie Costechareyre

Emilie Costechareyre is the inspiring creator of jewellery label,

Elvis et Moi.

We're very happy she wanted to be part of our Mother's Day campaign shoot, Mothers we love.

The French beauty lives with her daughter Eva Luna , 5 on the Northern beaches and enjoys life in sunny Australia.

We asked Emilie a few questions on how to juggle running her own business , life , fashion and being a mum.

How do you juggle running your own business and being a mother?

Well, to make it short it is pretty much RUNNING when you are a single mother...

Let's say it is all about organisation. And to do lists.

My house is surrounded of to do lists..that I don't read.

But I am getting better at it.

How would you describe your style?

I am a chameleon... I change my style all the time.

From simplicity to tomboy or to extremely feminine.

I love jeans and I am on the quest at the minute to find the perfect ones…

I also love crispy white tailored shirts and silk blouses.

I don't like flashy colours, and will always go for nuances of black, white, grey.

I even colour code my wardrobe!

How would you describe your daughters style?

I can't get her out of princess outfits...when I wish she was more than a tomboy.

Trying to get her into jeans is mission impossible.

I do like when she wears her beautiful tutu or her princess dresses from numero 74.

What do you love about raising children in Sydney?

The freedom and the safety. Taking your kids to the beach after school, nothing gets better than that!

What has motherhood taught you?

Patience....and that not everything has to be perfect.

What’s your beauty routine / beauty tips?

Lemon plus warm water as soon as I wake up. Then I wash my skin with Clairsonic, and use coconut oil as a moisturiser. Clairsonic was the best thing I could buy! I also use Queen bee magic, that I buy from the states. It is a magical natural cream. It moisturise your skin and get rid of wrinkles and spots.

I do a thick mask overnight and it is magical!

What’s your favourite designers for this season?

I Love Chloe...I do also like the simplicity of Bassike, and Ellery shapes.

5 things you love at the moment?

The white knitted cardigan by I Love Mr Mittens that I was wearing at the photoshoot! It is on my wish list...and a bit of an obsession..It was hard to give it back!

Mothers we love : Luci Hassen

Luci is one of our beautiful and talented team members at Mr & Mrs Smith. She's an expert on mixing vintage with new, and with her creative nature, she styles any of our clients to perfection.

Luci is a busy Mum of two boys Benjiro ,9 and Keitaro ,6.

She also helps run a newly-opened restaurant in Paddington,

The Italian Bar, together with her husband and brother in law. Hands down, the best pizza's in town!

Mothers we love : Camilla Dyrkorn from Stars in a jar

Camilla is one of our talented team members at Mr & Mrs Smith and Mclean & page, and a master of multi tasking.

The freshly faced Norwegian is the mother of two gorgeous energetic little kids Sophia 7 and Mateo 3.

How do you juggle running your own business and being a mother?

It’s all about balance really. I always try to keep things organised - but very often I find myself staying up long passed my bedtime. Lucky I am a night owl by nature! I do try my best to do most of my work while the kids are at school and daycare though, because when they are home in the afternoon it’s all about spending time with them.

What do you love about raising children in Sydney?

I love to be able to spend most of our time together outdoors.The lifestyle here is very relaxed, and it’s a beautiful place for our children to grow up.

Lots of parks and walking tracks everywhere. You can explore the beach life or the big city in one day.

How would you describe your style?

I basically live in jeans, t-shirts and sneakers/boots. I can’t stand high heels – even though I know it makes any woman look like a million. I can never really make up my mind when it comes to fashion….sometimes I lean towards the androgynous look while the next day I'm totally in the bohemian mood. It varies – but all in all I like simple, effortless style.

What is your favourite designers this season?

The bohemian in me will for always adore Isabel Marant. I can never get enough! Her style is often feminine, but I love how easily you can dress it down. Some of my wardrobe pieces I’ve had for many years, are By Malene Birger and she never seems to disappoint. My absolute favourite classic wardrobe staples are without a doubt Jac+ Jack, their pieces are to be worn season after season and I just love the clean cuts in their collections.

For my kids, I always dress them in Bobo Choses. They are a group of geniuses to make collection after collection filled with sustainable fashion, exploding with passion for the old fashioned, vintage looking garment with a twist of quirkiness.
