Raining men

With the wetter weather, it's time for the men to start thinking of ways to stay dry and warm. While we would rather stay bundled up indoors on days of downpour, work (and life) demands we actually have to leave the house and brave the wet weather. Here are some of our favourite picks and inspiration for winter that can keep you dry and weather any storm.

Layering | The sartorial splendour of colder weather

If you're anywhere south of the Queensland-New South Wales border then you're probably freezing your tail off. With the wet and wind hitting Sydney hard, Melbourne is due for a good pour all of next week. The only good sartorial solution to these hard-to-handle temperatures is layering. There is almost no limit to layering. Throw together turtlenecks, fine wool knits, leather jackets, giant over coats and wet-resistant trenches to keep yourself dry and warm. Belt it all together to give yourself that form often lost with heavy layers.

Obsessed with checks

From plaid and houndstooth, to over-sized checks and tartan, this pattern is breaking out of its British punk-rock perfect roots and exploding into the collections of brands everywhere. What a better way to switch things up in an outfit than with a check, or even check-on-check. Mix lightweight plaid or tonal checks to create an effortless ensemble.
